Blue-feathered
Rain
You caused her
Sorrow
In cold blood
Shot,
Front lit
And
Frail,
Lethargic smile
You’d drive her mad
Betrayed, Betrayed,
This radio silence
Were you
Still drunk
Was she
Naive
Could you
Relive
Rewind,
Undie.
Untie
The tie
And
Tie
The dye
Betrayed, Betrayed
You caused her
Sorrow,
Lethargic smile
You'd drive her mad
Front lit
And dry,
Untie,
Undie,
Your strangling thoughts
Forcing your way
Through
Mental depths,
Those
Mindless
Mines
But you know what
Eyes saw through pain
So bullet-proof
Betrayed, betrayed,
They can still breathe
They long
To sleep
And then
Once woken,
Love,Candidly,
Smokingly,
Read,
Through all those lines
Books old and new,
Verses renewed
Penned in ink black
And sung
In silence,
Oh yes,
In silence.
Rising,
Through
Pain,
Such drain,
Candidly,
Smokingly,
Read,
Those battered wings
Will at once heal
And flap again.
And fly, and fly
And fly away.
Hurt
Harmed,
Betrayed?
That great bird soul
A bursting
Heart,
A beat,
Skipped,
And then,
Candidly,
Smokingly,
Read,
Switch off that radio,
If you
Do
Leave,
Shouting
In silence,
Oh yes
In Silence.
A bursting
Heart
A beat,
Skipped,
If you do leave,
Candidly,
Smokingly,
Read,
In Radio Silence.
This is a powerful poem.
